The Provost's Office is offering the newly created Affordable Course Materials Grants program to encourage the adoption of free and low cost course materials. Faculty will have the opportunity to apply for a $5,000 grant to develop an Open Education Resource (OER). The Grants program is administered by the Center for Teaching and Learning and the UGA Libraries, and invite faculty applications by February 20, 2019.

Intersession hours for the Main and Science Libraries:
The Libraries resume their regular semester hours on Wednesday, January 9 with the beginning of Spring Semester.
In accordance with the University's late opening on Tuesday, Dec 11th, due to possible bad weather, the UGA Libraries will be opening at 10:00 a.m.
The Libraries will operate with shortened hours for the Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving Break hours for the Main and Science Libraries are:
On Saturday, November 24, the Libraries will be closed for the home football game - UGA vs. GA Tech. The outside book drop at the Main Library will be locked.
The Libraries will resume their regular Fall semester hours on Sunday, November 25.
GIS Day is set for Wednesday Nov. 14 at the Main Library and will take place from 10-2.
There will be a variety of activities, including lightning talks, drone demonstrations, an augmented reality sandbox, and a Mapathon. We'll also have tables featuring campus and local organizations, as well as snacks (and cake!)
The libraries will be closed on Saturday, November 10 for the home football game - UGA vs. Auburn. The libraries will resume their regular fall semester hours on Sunday, November 11.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the UGA Libraries are joining forces with the English Department to offer a host of Frankenstein related activities in the month of October. The Frankenreads events are part of an international celebration organized by the Keats-Shelley Association of America.
On Halloween, Wednesday October 31st our Frankenread will begin in UGA’s Main Library at 8am and continue until 6pm. In the spirit of the novel’s multiple voices, readers will be drawn from across the campus and the larger Athens community. The Frankenread will be accompanied by a slideshow of images drawn from popular culture and curated by Dr. Christopher Pizzino (UGA English).
The Main and Science Libraries will operate with shorter hours on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26.
The libraries' Fall Break hours are:
Thursday, October 25 - 7:30am to 9pm
Friday, October 26 - 8am to 6pm
Coffee & Bagels at the Main Library will be closed on Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th for some minor construction work. We apologize for any inconvenience.
