The UGA Libraries, along with all other USG libraries, will be getting a new online catalog system on May 26. The new GIL-Find will combine the best features of both the current GIL-Find and GIL Classic. The new system is from Ex Libris, a global leader in library automation with a long history of working with the UGA and USG libraries.
Service interruptions are expected to be minimal, but users should be aware of these dates:
- The GIL Express service will be on hiatus from May 5 – May 30
- “Favorites” saved in a current GIL-Find account will not automatically migrate to the new system. Save them by email or into EndNote before May 21.
Library users are encouraged to use Interlibrary Loan to get books and articles during this period of transition. Patrons can continue to request materials to be ordered for the collection and these requests will be held until ordering is resumed.
The Libraries will have drop-in orientations in early June and again in August; check back here for dates and times.
