The Course Reserves service provided by the UGA Libraries ensures that your students have free, timely access to your choice of course-related journal articles and/or books. Requests may be submitted at any time. Requests submitted by the guarantee date will be completed by the first day of classes. For Spring Semester 2020, the guarantee date is Friday, November 29, 2019. Requests received after this date will be processed as quickly as possible, but we cannot guarantee their availability by the start of classes.
- Instructors may submit a list of citations or materials to the libraries’ course reserves staff. The course reserves staff will retrieve requested materials and process them as required by the instructor. Physical materials may be assigned a 2 hour, 1 day, 3 day, or 7 day loan period so students can access print versions for specific periods of time.
- Physical course reserves may be circulated from any of the following locations: Main Library; Science Library; Carnegie Library Learning Center- Health Sciences Campus; Curriculum Materials Library- Aderhold Hall; Veterinary Medicine Reading Room- CVM Original Building; Music Library- Hugh Hodgson School of Music; the Dodd Library- Lamar Dodd School of Art; Owens Library- College of Environment and Design
- Materials can also be digitized for use as e-reserves. Students can access the readings through the online (GIL) catalog or in a course module on eLC, depending on the instructor’s needs. As long as the amount of material to be digitized is within BOR copyright guidelines, the course reserves staff can post a reading in the reserves module of the GIL catalog or in a course module on eLC.
