Free Workshop Series Celebrates Research Data This February

Submitted by Camie on

Show some love to data and join us for Love Data Week, coming up just in time for Valentine’s Day.

UGA students, faculty, and staff are invited to a series of free workshops celebrating data and teaching researchers at all stages how to plan out their data strategies, organize, analyze, and share their results. The workshops, many of which are available online via Zoom, will be held Feb. 10-14.

Love Data Week is an international celebration of the power of data and the value it has on research, business, and everyday life. This year’s theme is “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?” to promote reflection on data ownership and usage. UGA Libraries’ department of research and computational data management is hosting the local workshop series alongside partners at the University of Liverpool Libraries, and Ludwig Maximillian University Libraries and ITG in Munich, Germany.

The series begins Feb. 10 with an online workshop where experts from all three institutions will discuss finding open data for research. Throughout the week UGA faculty and graduate students are encouraged to attend the free in-person, hybrid, and online events. Some topics include Data about Data, GIS Data, Text Analytics, Research and Data Management, and so many more.

Whether you’re a data newbie or a pro, these events will expand your knowledge and demonstrate the impact that data has. Register for events at the links below.
