Immigration attorney B. Kent Felty is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the area of human trafficking. In 2006, Felty, along with the EEOC, won a $1.4 million verdict for 50 steel workers, who had been brought to the United States from India by the John Pickle Co. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, using false promises and coercion. The John Pickle plaintiffs were the first trafficking victims in US history to get T visas—visas that let them stay in the US to bring a lawsuit against their employer—and their case was the first civil suit in a human trafficking case under the new Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Ultimately, Felty represented over 200 trafficked Indian steelworkers in the US South.

Speaker Biography: Felty is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the University of Tulsa Law School. He currently practices Immigration Law in Littleton, Colorado.
