A hands-on introduction to data visualization in RStudio, an open-source environment for data analysis. This workshop will cover the basics of how to use ggplot2, R's most popular package for data visualization. ggplot2 is known for its visually appealing plots and tidy code structure: once you are familiar with the general structure, you can create any kind of chart, with as much or as little customization as you like. We will cover the basic structure of a ggplot() command; how to add data to a plot in the form of bars, points, or lines; how to vary by colors; and how to add labels and titles to a plot. Attendees should download and install R and RStudio prior to the workshop.
