Athens Art Book Fair

The Athens Art Book Fair showcases a variety of works on paper produced by dozens of artists and presses from primarily Athens, Georgia and the Southeast. This event is free to the public and will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at the Athenaeum in downtown Athens from 11 am to 4 pm.

Join us to explore a wide variety of techniques and subject matter on display and connect with artists and publishers!

Lunch & Learn: For All the People

In celebration of National Hospital Week (May 12th - May 18th), join the Richard B. Russell Library on Tuesday, May 14th for a Lunch and Learn! Enjoy a guided tour of the new exhibition For All the People: A Century of Citizen Action in Health Care Reform. Afterward, a catered lunch will be provided with discussion about the exhibit while learning more about what the Special Collections Libraries have to offer! The National Library of Medicine produced this exhibition and companion website. 

Author Event and Book Signing with Hanif Abdurraqib and Xinyue Huang

Join The Georgia Review and Avid Bookshop at the legendary 40 Watt for a literary night you won't want to miss. Best-selling writer and music critic Hanif Abdurraqib reads from his newly released book, There's Always This Year, about basketball, life, and home. Emerging bilingual poet Xinyue Huang reads from her book on love, loss, and persistence. Free and open to the public. Book sale and signing to follow. RSVPs highly suggested.
