Historically the American political poster has been sorely neglected as an art form and has played a minor cultural role despite its effectiveness in conveying a political message to millions of voters often through the skillful use of visual communication. Join the Richard B.
Join us for this special collaboration with the Georgia Museum of Art (GMOA) as we celebrate local artist Art Rosenbaum and his art on campus. We’ll explore Georgia’s political history as captured by Rosenbaum in his mural “Doors” created for the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies.
Dr. Marion Nestle is the Paulette Goddard Professor Emerita of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University. She is also a consumer advocate, nutritionist and author of six award-winning books. Nestle’s research examines scientific and socioeconomic influences on food choice, obesity and food safety, with an emphasis on the role of food marketing. Among her recent honors are the John Dewey Award for Distinguished Public Service from Bard College and the Public Health Hero Award from the University of California School of Public Health at Berkeley.
