About the Exhibit:
Music history in Georgia is the story of people searching for belonging and finding connections with each other and the world around them. "Georgia on my Mind" explores some of the genres, spaces, and performers that have helped to define music in the state over time. Highlighting artists Ray Charles, Bill Anderson, R.E.M., The B52's, Lil Nas X, Outkast and more, "Georgia on my Mind" speaks to the music that connects us to Georgia and to each other. The exhibit also features a community curated room with items from people in the Athens community.
