RefWorks allows you to save citations from databases, organize them, attach PDFs, and then format and insert the citations into Word or Google Docs in one of 15,000 different citation styles.

In the academic realm this can result in ChatGPT entirely inventing imaginary publications out of whole cloth, disguising them with impeccably formatted citations.
