Join award winning poet and 2024 Georgia Writers Hall of Fame Honoree Wyatt Prunty for a poetry reading on Tuesday, October 15th at 6:00PM. The reading, which will take place in the 3rd floor reading room of the University of Georgia Main Library, will be followed by a Q&A with the poet and a light reception.

Join us for the 2024 Lillian Smith Book Awards Ceremony, which will be held on October 3rd, 2024, at 7 p.m. ET in the Decatur Library Auditorium. This free event includes remarks from both recipients and a Q&A followed by a book signing. The Lillian Smith Book Awards are sponsored by the Southern Regional Council, University of Georgia Libraries, DeKalb County Public Library/The Georgia Center for the Book, and Piedmont College. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested.

Join the Hargrett Library on Friday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m. for a talk with photographer Jason Thrasher, curator of the new exhibition Athens Potluck. His presentation will detail the story behind his 2017 book which inspired the exhibition, and his continued work with musicians in Athens, Georgia.
