The Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library holds a large collection of contemporary fine printing and artists’ books. Hundreds of years separate the creation of the oldest books and these newer ones, yet they have a great deal in common. Contemporary book makers often choose methods of production quite similar to those used by the earliest book printers, though the aesthetics may have changed.
New Again: Selections from the Rare Book Vault displays books from the Hargrett Library’s Private Press Collection alongside examples from our historic holdings, revealing some of the similarities and differences.
